The Vice President of Construction is a hands-on role responsible for the day-to-day operations and the financial well-being of the various projects dealing with the rehabilitation of homes owned by the Company. In addition, this position hires project managers, writes contracts and helps design construction plans and creates and manages budgets.

Responsibilities -

Coordinates pre-construction planning with design team and contractors; creates projected budgets; reviews and approves the phasing and construction plan developed by the owner/contractor
Oversees all build projects and ensures they are executed and completed in a timely manner and on budget
Directs, measures and reports progress towards project goals; develops new markets
Procurement of vendors and contractor for best pricing, efficiency and/or time savings for projects
Ensures that procurement of materials, supplies and equipment meets project needs
Plans and works with upper management to develop long term plans for the organization around the growth and development of construction
Collaborates with development team leaders towards a common goal
Streamlines the project delivery process; reviews progress of buy-out, submittals, construction schedule and performance on all projects

Requirements -

Bachelor's degree in Construction, Finance, Real Estate or a related field required
Minimum of ten (10) years of construction experience required
Experience must include:
Understanding of Underwriting
Understanding of MLS and other real estate tools
Property valuation/appraisal, trustee sales, and escrow transactions
Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience, managing direct reports
Demonstrated knowledge of the real estate industry required
Valid driver's license required
Intermediate experience of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel) and Dynamics CRM required
Valid driver's license required
General contractor's license
