Job Description:

Evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications. Performs assignments, which have clear and specific objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables, for an engineered discipline within a global business unit.

Understands the basic discipline work processes.

Performs engineering tasks, within a discipline, having a minor degree of complexity.

Participates in reviewing and checking designs, drawings, and data from suppliers.

Familiar with relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).

This position is for Civil engineering design on a nuclear power plant with work assignment in Southern Florida.

The position duties include but are not limited to the following:

Civil/Structural design and development, including concept sketches and layouts.

Use of engineering computer programs and solutions.

Prepares design calculations and specifications.

Prepares or reviews engineering studies and reports.

Reviews and checks designs, drawings, and data prepared by suppliers.

Reviews design documents of equipment manufacturers or subcontractors of a moderate degree of complexity and prepares comments and recommendations.

Prepares letters for replies to vendor correspondence.

Assists in the preparation of forecasts, quantity takeoffs, and change orders.

Basic Qualifications

* BS degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or University with at least 2 years experience as structural engineer or MS degree in Civil Engineering.
* Ability to pass nuclear security screening requirements and be able to obtain unescorted clearance to a nuclear power plant.
* Candidates must currently possess the eligibility to work and remain in the US without visa sponsorship.
* Demonstrated skills in oral and written communication.
