Job Description:

Defense Contractor with 15+ years of proven performance in supporting and/or developing business in the areas of DoD (primary) and Homeland Security (secondary) acquisition, engineering and operations and support activities. Alternatively, retired Senior Level Naval Officer or Government Civilian with primary/current experience in USN/USMC acquisition, engineering, and operations and support activities. Overall responsibility for SBU capture management, pipeline health, competitive intelligence, proposal operations, market research, and business development processes/practices/execution. Hands-on experience with identifying, qualifying and managing the capture of new business opportunities> $100M required. Will be required to close new business deals and lead captures of new business opportunities> $100M in value as well as manage other personnel responsible for doing the same. Ideal candidate will also have had P&L experience and the desire and ability to eventually run P&L of > $100M.

Secret Clearance required, Top Secret desired.

URS Corporation Federal Services provides systems engineering and technology services focused on defense-related aviation and ground systems, command, control and electronics systems, and homeland defense. We also provide mission-critical technical services including maintenance, modification, overhaul and service life extension for military aircraft and ground vehicles, logistics support services, systems engineering and military training.

We are seeking a highly qualified individual for Vice President, Business Development for the National Security & Defense (NSD) Strategic Business Unit (SBU); approximately $500M in annual revenue. This is a new position reporting to the NSD SBU leader.

You will be responsible for a wide range of business development and management activities; will be required to close new business deals and lead captures of new business opportunities of $100M+ in value as well as manage other personnel responsible for doing the same.

The Washington Division provides engineering, construction and management solutions for infrastructure, power, mining, oil and gas, industrial/process and defense projects. The Division specializes in design-build and design-build-operate-maintain services for transportation systems and provides engineering, construction, modification and maintenance expertise for every form of power-generating facility. Through our Washington Division, we also manage high-risk, technically complex programs and facilities for the U.S. Department of Energy, including nuclear waste management and disposal programs.
