Job Description:
Responsible for the organization, direction, and control of all Planning, Design & Construction Services activities at Loyola University Health System in order to provide efficient and effective programming, design and construction to include activities associated with long-range planning and development of facilities, including construction of buildings, utilities, site work and remodeling projects in the support of patient care services while ensuring service line meets the Medical Center?s mission, vision, goals and objectives, the needs of users, and that operations comply with all pertinent regulatory and accreditation requirements

Minimum Education:
Required: Bachelors Degree
Preferred: Masters Degree
Minimum Experience:
Required: 6-10 years of previous job-related experience
Preferred: 10+ years of previous job-related experience
Minimum Experience Details: ? Must have ten years of progressive Planning, Design and Construction experience, to include three years at a management level position. ? Director and/or service line manager experience preferred. ? Work experience in a large complex healthcare organization preferred.
Managerial Experience: 3-5 years

Position Responsibilities: Works in partnership with the Leadership of the Support Services division to develop, implement, monitor, and revise annual goals and objectives and long range plans of Planning, Design & Construction Services to ensure that the department functions properly and efficiently within the mission, vision, goals and objectives of the Division and the Medical Centers. Develops and promotes assigned staff by encouraging, endorsing, and allowing opportunities for education and training to foster and ensure individual and team knowledge and skills are increased and enhanced. Selects, trains, schedules, motivates, supervises, and evaluates employees, making recommendations for disciplinary actions up to and including termination, to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities. Develops and monitors annual operating and capital budgets to ensure the department has the necessary funds to carry out established goals and objectives. Reviews, supports and assists in the development and sustainment of established capital and operating budget goals with respect to Facilities planning. Ensures that renovation and construction projects are developed in conjunction with Medical Center?s Facilities planning goals. Develop and execution of policies and procedures for the management of space utilization in the Medical Center?s facilities. Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact or govern Planning, Design & Construction Services. Ensures departmental employees understand how they can individually provide optimal service to internal and external customers including patients, employees, and vendors, and monitors employees? progress to ensure that expectations are being met. Identifies and analyzes the design of jobs, work processes, and work flows for the department and uses this knowledge to determine and implement appropriate changes to improve effectiveness, productivity, and efficiency that support the overall goals of the department and Medical Center. Serves on various committees as assigned to improve departmental and hospital-wide operation. Maintains positive working relationships with job-related contacts such as management, vendors, other hospitals, and employees to ensure all job contacts are pleasant, productive, and effective in order to increase the success of Planning, Design & Construction Services operations.
