Job Description:

Lead, support and manage hotel capital improvement projects to support HHMs efforts to deploy approximately $40 MM of capital across 130 hotel properties throughout the United States according to ownership and brand standards. Requires excellence in meeting stringent project deadlines, budget and quality requirements.

Essential Job Functions
Determine project budgets by effectively estimating costs associated with labor, materials and other resources.
Develop, analyze and monitor project budgets and progress and produce regular detailed reports related to same ensuring minimal guest disruption.
Consistent and accurate forecasting of cost and timelines for each project to owners and operators and across internal teams.
Interview, select, train, schedule, coach and support associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards and consistent with HHM core values.
Develop and maintain hotel brand relationships and negotiate project requirements in an effort to meet brand standards and owners expectations related to budget and expectations.
Negotiate with contractors and vendors to achieve best value for labor and materials associated with the property improvement/development plan and in accordance with franchise requirements.
Review, analyze, and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Visit properties to inspect construction progress and results.
Review development contract documents to ensure compliance with American Institute of Architect standards.
Oversee selection of materials, finishes, etc., for on-going construction projects.
Attend and/or conduct periodical meetings with architect and contractors.
Ensure completion of review of contractor's requisite to compare with completed quantity, ensure quality and ensure specification compliance before processing of payment.
As needed, assist field project managers with coordination with the county and township engineers/employees for securing permits/inspections and to attend meetings.
Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHMs EarthView program.
Practice safe work habits.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
Position Requirements
5 years of experience in development and construction in the hospitality industry.
Bachelors degree in Construction Management or a similar practice and/or significant relevant experience in Construction Project Management with hospitality projects.
Exceptional leadership skills and experience leading a team/department.
Superior communication skills.
Superior analytical skills and extensive experience with analysis/utilization of reports, P&L's and balance sheets to develop budgets and supportable projections.
Extensive project management experience.
Mastery of project accountingand project management software.
Any of the following certifications are highly desirable: Project Management Professional (PMP) certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and/or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certified by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI).
Work Environment and Context
Frequent travel required.
Required to sit for extended periods, lift up to 30 pounds, bend, reach, use hands and fingers to operate keyboard.
