EXPERIENCE                  Larson & Darby Group, Rockford Illinois (May 2005 March 2010)

Project Architect Responsible for project management from conception through completion; including client contact and program development, budget analysis, life-cycle analysis, preliminary drawings, construction documents, structural calculations, code review, plan review responses, shop drawing review, responding to RFIs during construction, review of pay requests, and site supervision.  The majority of this data was maintained in Microsoft Project.


All of these next duties were maintained by keeping accurate data in Microsoft Excel.  This also allowed me the ability to show the data with an emphasis on the most pertinent ideals.  For example, it was used for insurance inventories, depreciation, length of service, service cost vs. operating cost, all employees, phone ext., current projects, billable hours, software licenses, hardware numbers, etc


CAD Manager Responsible for set-up of workstations.  Initiated and Chaired the CAD Standards Committee.  Prepared CAD Standards Manual with Committees help, and maintain adherence to those standards through drawing review, in-house training, and orientation and training of all new employees.

BIM Manager Responsible for set-up of BIM Standards.  Develop BIM content and templates and perform in-house training.  Setup in-house committee to establish electronic file liability, and define deliverables.

IT Manager acting IT Manager in the absence of in-house IT staff.  Design and maintain wide area network (WAN) allowing communication/file sharing between all of LDGs offices, Help-Desk issues, server maintenance, system backup and restore, archive maintenance, VoIP phone system maintenance, internet service maintenance, established and maintain FTP site, maintain exchange server and email.

CAD Operator Responsible for preparation and coordination of preliminary site development drawings and construction documents.

PERSONAL                      I am an energetic self-starter, working with little to no supervision.  I am a team player with excellent managerial and problem solving skills.  I pride myself in the ability to get the job done accurately and in a timely fashion.  I always become the go-to guy.


I am an Associate member of the AIA and have participated in various mentoring programs and attended the AIA Leadership Institute in 2008.


Since becoming authorized to sit for the ARE, I have passed 7 of the 9 exams as well as completed the IDP and am working toward licensure in the state of Wisconsin.  As soon as conditions permit, I intend to finish the last two sections of the ARE.  As soon as this as complete, I also intend to complete my studies toward LEED AP certification.  I was fortunate enough to attend a prior study group. 


I am proficient in all versions of AutoCAD and have been using it since 1989.  I have also implemented BIM methodology and have been using Autodesks Revit for 3D modeling and rendering since 2007.  In addition, Im proficient in all platforms of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Server 2000/2003/2007, Exchange Server, Novell, Photoshop  Too numerous to list them all.
