Job Description:
McCarthy Building Co. currently has a need for an Electrical Estimator to join our Preconstruction/Estimating team. McCarthys Northern Pacific Preconstruction department is a large group of professional estimators working on some of the most challenging projects in the country. We pride ourselves on delivering cost certainty to our clients, and we are looking to add a talented estimator to our staff.
o Perform quantity take-off and pricing of electrical estimates.
o Assist with final assembly of estimate for presentation to Owner.
o Subcontractor solicitation during bidding process.
o Aid field operations with change order pricing.
o Review of the project documents for value analysis suggestions.
o Preparation and pricing of value analysis suggestions.
o Coordinate electrical scope of work with architectural, structural and mechanical estimators.
o Prepare budget comparisons between current and previous estimates.

The position reports to the VP of Preconstruction Services
o 5 years of electrical estimating experience.
o General knowledge of construction principles/process.
o General knowledge of negotiated bids, hard bids, GMP processes.
o Bachelors degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred but not required based on experience.
o Knowledge of Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook.
o Ability to use, or learn to use, ICE, On-Screen estimating programs.
o Good organizational skills.
o Good communication skills.
