Interviewing & Job Hunting Questions

Because of personal reasons, I was not at my best during a job interview and was turned down for a position that I wanted very badly. What are my chances of getting a second interview and what is the best way to ask?

If the position was already awarded to another construction executive job seeker, getting your foot back in the door for further consideration will be easier said than done. I suggest you write a brief personal note of explanation and mail it to the HR professional who conducted your interview. Attach your resume, and ask that your information be immediately considered for any other openings in which you qualify, or that your information is kept on file for consideration of future openings. Sometimes, the interviewer may understandably award another interview or you may just receive the cold shoulder. Either way, take it as a lesson learned and be prepared for the next interview.
