What do construction jobseekers look for in an employer?

Most jobseekers look for employers who have good local and national reputations with owners, clients, contractors and vendors. Firm should be know to be loyal to it's people, pay as well or better than market wages, and offer people career advancement opportunities- promote from within. Obviously jobseekers want to know that they are getting paid well for their services. Employers must know the market wage for any given employee if they expect to retain their people. Most jobseekers want to know that the employer has growth opportunities and a future for them. People want to be part of a winning team and a firm that is not going to lay them off when times get tough.  They want a career and not just a job.
