Resignation, Firing & Termination Questions

How to resign in style?

Add Answer

Sometimes, construction employees get so wrapped up in a new offer, they forget their professionalism and responsibility to their construction employer. Make sure to provide sufficient advanced notice (2-4 weeks) for your employer before your departure date. Help your construction employer with your transition of a new hire, and leave on the best terms possible. Be courteous and upbeat until you depart, not bad mouthing anyone or anything, or dealing in negatives. Show appreciation for the construction employer's past efforts in helping you advance your construction career, and work to maintain positive relations with all colleagues, subordinates and managers.

There is no easy way to resign but the more you say the more you have to explain. It is better to say "I would like to give you more details but at this time my new employer has asked me to keep things confidential and not to share any information until they have had a chance to introduce me (new hire) to them so they don't hear about it on the street."
